Enhancement Overview:
I. New (Hiring Manager & Partner) Permission Groups
As part of the 9.7 improvements, two new permission groups were added: Hiring Manager and Partner. These are meant to provide admins with more control over who has access to certain features or actions within the Standalone and New Onboarding components. These will allow users to access only the features and action that are relevant to their role. This can help to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and improve overall efficiency. Both will be included in the list of our default permission.
Currently, the system allows an admin user to create onboarding workflows, which are a series of tasks and actions that a new hire needs to complete during their onboarding process. However, the feature to assign employees to a specific onboarding workflow was unavailable to hiring managers.
For instance, if an organization has different onboarding processes for different departments or job roles, a hiring manager can select the relevant workflow and assign the new hire to it. This would ensure that the new hire receives the appropriate onboarding experience and completes all the necessary tasks before starting their job.
How it works?
As a user with Hiring Manager permission rights, the "Onboarding Flow" field has become visible that can be updated to ensure that correct onboarding flow is selected before sending the invite as it is defaulted to "Automatic".
Note: Both Active and Inactive will show up for the hiring manager to somehow be updated of the onboarding flow status.
In addition to this new default permission, Partner permission has also been added as an option in both "Manage system users" and "Invite Employee" for users with sudo access in the regular and standalone onboarding.
II. Removal of STP Tax category and ABN Field
During the employee's onboarding, under Tax Declaration tab, this section will no longer be visible to employees. Applicable to AU clients.
However, the below section will be visible to managers with Finance & Payroll access upon completion of the process.
This field will only be applicable if employee has/is qualified for the following:
-
STSL Debt
-
Seasonal worker
-
Holiday visa
The manager with access can then update the details via the employee profile.
III. Removal of ABN Field
If the company has a single ABN, this field is no longer visible not just in sending an onboarding invite but also in Add Employee, Re-hire and Reinstate forms. Applicable to AU clients.
For multiple entities, the field and dropdown to choose the correct entity will show.
In the employee profile, the ABN or employee entity details will be displayed in the Finance & Payroll tab that can be later on update by a user with the right access.
