Overview
Currently we provide the ability to clock in using the mobile app. For some companies (and in some locations) the ability to geo-fence clocking in and out is important, to prevent possible time discrepancies. We want to introduce the capability to: define locations that require geofencing for clocking in and out, the ability to set the physical location and geofencing threshold for a location, to calculate the Euclidean distance from an employee’s mobile device to the location when clocking in and out, and to provide an alert when an employee clocks in or out outside the threshold for a location.
How it works?
Setting up Geofencing
1. Admins configure a threshold to stop employees using their mobile app to clock in from a randomly far locations. Navigate to Management > Settings > Edit Location to enable geofencing at a location level.
2. Click Set to browser location then allow your browser to use your location. You may also type in the company location/address you may want to set or manually place a pin for precise placement, click and drag the pin on the map
3. Then the Latitude and Longitude will automatically populate.
4. Set the Threshold in meters then zoom in to see the radius,
5. Select Inherit geofencing settings from parent if the sub location has the same address/coordinates and threshold.
6. Set the Alerts by navigating to Management > Settings > Alerts. Select "Clock Entry Exceeds Geofencing Threshold" under Timesheet. This will only display on timesheets if the location geofencing enabled.
Application on Timesheets
1. Managers will be alerted that the clock events exceeds geofencing threshold showing in kilometers the distance from the set threshold.
2. Clicking the clock event will display clock info and the location of the employee where clocking took place.
3. Timesheet Filters also includes the geofencing alert to only see timesheets that triggered the alert.
