Global pay rules and pay levels are great for sharing common sets of rules with multiple companies.
In future, companies will be able to use a set of global pay rules ‘as is’ for their company. In the meantime, companies can clone a copy of the global pay rules to their company for use.
Some notes about cloning global pay rules
when you clone a global pay rule, you get a copy of the pay rule, and all the versions of that pay rule in your company. That means that you do not automatically get any changes to the global pay rule, or any new versions published for the global pay rule.
The ability to ‘get the latest version’ of a global pay rule will be coming in a future version
Pay rules can reference other records,
conditions can reference:
Work types
Leave types
pay tags
actions can reference
pay types
when cloning a global pay rule to your company, the system will create copies of each of the records above that are referenced by a global pay rule, and automatically link up the new records in your company to the references in the rules. There’s nothing for an admin to do here, except to note:
we currently reference these records by ID, so if you already have a record with the same name in your company, we won’t link to the existing record
we check for the record existing in your company before creating it, so cloning two pay rules that reference the same pay type will only have one reference to that pay type in your company
