Overview:
This feature allows rostering staff to be as efficient as possible, giving more visibility around how well the hours for staff on fixed contracts is being utilized. Like if the staff member is contracted to work 25 hours per week, and rostered for one 8 hour shift so far, the scheduler is able to see how many more of the employee's hours are available.
As a schedule manager, Remaining Hours for an employee will be shown when creating or updating a shift. so that there will be an accurate picture for the number of hours remaining for the employee for the roster period.
How it works:
Currently, Remaining Hours calculation is based on the below employees' setup prioritising the below items accordingly:
shift patterns/ standard hours
- then
pay hours per week
- and then
max hours
1. Display remaining hours when employee has an active work pattern (standard hours).
The employee's Friday shift has 8hrs but rostered only for 6, under the employee's name Remaining Hours shows 2 hrs left for the employee to be rostered out of the 24 hours in total the employee can be rostered.
2. Display remaining hours when employee has NO active work pattern.
The employee has not standard hours but the "Pay hours per week" is 40 which is usually for salaried employees.
3. Display remaining hours when employee has NO active work pattern and hours per week.
The Maximum hours is the employee profile's Settings tab is set to 38.
Note: The remaining hours will show (over) when total hours for roster period is more than the standard hours, hours per week or maximum hours. An hyphen will show if equal.
